Indoor Pool Swim Test
Procedures for Children
In order to swim in the pool without adult supervision, children must be 12 years of age or older and pass a swim test. Children under age 12 who have passed the swim text may only swim with adult supervision (18+) in the pool or on the deck. Children less than 12 years old who have not passed the swim test must be accompanied in the water by an adult within arm's reach of the child. Children (including infants and toddlers) CANNOT be left unattended on the deck while the parent swims.

The JCC Karishim Swim team is a competitive swim team open to boys and girls ages 6-17. Karishim coaches are committed to developing strong values, building self-esteem and enabling each swimmer to meet his or her competitive potential. Under the direction of USS certified coaches, the team participates in USS meets and Championship meets held throughout New England. There are two Karishim Swim Team seasons: Fall (Sept through March) and Spring (mid-March through July). In-pool and dry-land practices are held at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC indoor pool and at the Town of Brookline Pool on weekdays and Sundays, in the late afternoon/early evening hours.
