A place to spread creative wings
Welcome to the place where campers in grades K-8 make friends, learn new skills, stay active and explore their creative sides-JCC Kaleidoscope Creative Arts and Science Camp, open to the entire community!

Acclaimed for its full arts exploration, multi-cultural environment and commitment to community service, Kaleidoscope offers campers in grades K-8 the opportunity to engage in art, drama, science, dance, music and technology-with a healthy dose of swimming, team sports and the great outdoors-in two-, four- and eight-week sessions.

In a stimulating, enriching setting at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center's campus in Newton (MA), Kaleidoscope combines an active camp life with the values of community service, providing opportunities for campers to be involved with worthy causes.

Join our vibrant camp community where creativity thrives...
In the studios
Campers explore the arts under the guidance of master artists, experimenting with techniques in professionally equipped, air-conditioned ceramics, darkroom, painting, woodworking and printmaking studios.

On the stage
We stage four, full-scale musical productions that integrate playwriting, acting, vocals, dance, choreography, and costume design. While professional directors, stage technicians and musical accompanists guide the way, campers shine in solo and group performances. Offstage, campers have opportunities to interact with and learn from visiting professional performers.

In our pools and on our fields
Campers stay active and fit using the JCC's gyms, playing fields, tennis courts, hiking trails, and indoor and outdoor pools. Our sports and recreation specialists lead non-competitive team activities that emphasize teamwork, good sportsmanship and fun.

For the larger community
Campers choose worthwhile causes and plan events to raise awareness and funds for a variety of causes-working together and using their skills and talents to make a difference.

At Arts Nite
Each four week session culminates in a special evening dedicated to highlighting our talented campers. Arts Nite features a fully staged musical production and campers' artistic creations are displayed throughout the JCC in a major multimedia exhibition.

At iCampTM Children's Technology Workshop
iCampers enjoy one week, mind-expanding adventures in computer animation, engineering, robotics, graphic design, video production and video game design-all in a specially equipped technology classroom at the JCC. (Special enrollment required.)

Kaleidoscope complies with Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulations and is inspected and licensed by the City of Newton Department of Public Health.
